It would be extremely difficult to be in the business of selling and servicing surveying equipment for over 40 years without having an interest in the older instruments. My start was in the late 50?s working for a distributer importer of instruments made by companies Fennel Instruments from Germany and Sokkisha instruments from Japan. Surprising both are still manufacturing equipment today. Over the years we have bought and sold many older transits, dumpy and Wye levels and even a few early compasses. For years I kept a collection mainly of instruments found in attics and garages.

We always have an interest in purchasing optical vintage surveying transits and levels, and usually have a few to sell. All instruments sold will be checked out re-lubed and generally cleaned up for sale.

There are shops that completely restore and refinish older instruments and although we have done this service in the past we no longer provide it.
