You install the "Hite Mike" just like you would a valve spring, installing the retainer and locks. Expand the valve spring micrometer until it has seated the valve. Simple, Repeatable, the tool is then read like a micrometer and is accurate to .001".
The seat pressure against the spring retainer results in precise readings.
