Benchmark was formed in 1973 to provide the local surveyor in San Diego Ca. with that same mission. We started distributing the SOKKIA line up of instruments and supplies then and continue to offer that product line today. We are dedicated to providing the best products, service and support that we can to the Surveyors, Engineers, & Contractors, that we serve.

Bob Elliott the owner of Benchmark has been in the sales and service of the Surveying Instrument industry for 43 years, with the vast majority of that time spent selling and servicing products manufactured by Sokkia.  Additionally working directly for Sokkia as a Retail Branch manager for the Benchmark facilities in Southern California and a regional sales position for Sokkia in the Southwest.

We first offer Sokkia products because of this long and experienced relationship with the people and products of Sokkia. We are dedicated to providing the best service and support that we can to the Surveyors, Engineers, & Contractors, that we serve. We would like to thank all of our valued customers for the continuous business throughout the years. Bobs addictive hobby over most of his career is Drag Racing, NHRA Stock and Super Stock so having a line of precision tools for measuring and blueprinting of race engines is a natural. Although away from racing the last few years we now have another Stock Eliminator car for enjoying semi retirement. Benchmark Race division handles these tools.
